Description

Cassiopeia A is a supernova remnant located around 11,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia. It spans around 10 light years.[1]

Commonly one sees detailed images taken from space (Hubble, Spitzer and Webb) or professional observatories and the false colour images show a remarkably complex structure. Of course, the 12" Newtonian hasn't the reach to duplicate these and, while bright, the Cass A actually shows little detail in this HSO; what I hadn't expected were the clouds of glowing hydrogen nor the nearby, huge flower like nebula. Serendipidy.
